Rick Redbeard is a godlike everywhere this week… well, we have several listings for one of Scotland’s top singer-songwriters… on Tuesday 12th he’s at Edinburgh’s Electric Circus, then on Friday 15th at Aberdeen’s Peacock Artspace, an Intersting Music Promotions show.
Then he’s Inverness on Saturday 16th March at Mad Hatters – support comes from Matchstick Maker and Kris Douglas of The Whisky River Band. That one’s a Netsounds Unsigned gig. Finally, on Sunday, home (well, his label’s home) to Glasgow’s CCA.

Onto Wednesday, down to Embra – Southern Tenant Folk Union play at Canon’s Gait.

Not an awful lot on Glasgow this week – Honeyblood play Bloc on Saturday. And the Inspiral Carpets are at King Tut’s on Saturday – they also have a Friday show at PJ Molloy’s in Dunfermline.

Speaking of old stagers, Eddie Tudor Pole is in Edinburgh on Saturday – at the Citrus Club (which is where the old punks always go to…
A rather more up-to-date model – Nina Nesbitt is at the Liquid Rooms. Not sure if she’s headlining, but since she has (apparently) just made the Radio One playlist, it’s quite possible.
Out in the sticks (!), James Yorkston is at Stirling’s Tolbooth on Saturday.

And in Aberdeen at Drummonds, Woodenbox (with or without the Fistfull of Fivers, no-one’s quite sure at the moment).

On Sunday in Dundee – at the Reading Rooms – Ruts DC. That was the name the punk band took after Malcolm Owen died, and they produced a fairly dub-influenced album, if memory serves. Betting they might be doing a few of the hits as well though…

Meanwhile, Kid Canaveral are in Dundee at Beat Generator live on Sunday, while electronic wunderkid Ulrich Schnauss is at the Electric Circus. And Stiff Little Fingers are at the Barras in Glasgow. Hmm, must be St Patrick’s night…
