Scottish punk veterans The Rezillos release their second studio album, ‘Zero’, on the Metropolis label.

The follow-up (!) to 1978’s ‘Can’t Stand The Rezillos’ contans 12 tracks including re-recordings of singles ‘Number One Boy’ and ‘Out Of This World’.

The band’s debut came out on Seymour Stein’s Sire label alongside The Ramones, and reached no. 16 in the UK Album Chart, and included the Top 20 hit ‘Top Of The Pops’, plus ‘Somebody’s Gonna Get Their Head Kicked in Tonight’, which featured decades later in ‘Jackass, The Movie’.

Following the band’s split and a live album ‘Mission Accomplished’ co-vocalists Eugene Reynolds and Fay Fife formed The Revillos while guitarist and main songsmith Jo Callis joined The Human League and co-wrote many of that band’s chart hits. The Rezillos reformed in the early 00s after being invited to play at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay celebrations.

The Rezillos are currently on a UK tour with The Stranglers in March including a show in Glasgow on Saturday 28th March. Zero’ is currently reviewed at isthismusic.com.
