Following their recent live reformation, seminal Glasgow duo The Vaselines have finally recorded their second album – 20 years since the band split.

The band reformed to play an unannounced benefit for Malawi orphans at Glasgow’s Mono in 2008, and then a fully-publicised show as part of Tigerfest at Dunfermline’s Carnegie Hall shortly afterwards.
Since then Frances McKee and Eugene Kelly have been working on new material, and the fruit of this, an album entitled Sex With an X, will appear on Subpop, on September 13th.
The album is, like debut Dum Dum, produced by Jamie Watson, and features guest musicians Stevie Jackson and Bob Kildea from Belle & Sebastian on guitar and bass, and 1990s drummer Michael McGaughrin.
A UK tour beginning in Edinburgh will commence two days afterwards.
