Raza release their debut EP, ‘Futuramayana’, via the Save As Collective.
The Scots-French duo are, on synthesiser and programming (and trumpeter) Gav ‘Grnr’ Thomson and drummer Bertrand Auguste Mougel.
The duo’s name is a reference to the musical chi called Rasa in Gamelan, and they first got together after singing Ivor Cutler together at the Glad Community Choir in Shawlands in Glasgow.
Gav has previously worked with Findo Gask, GRNR, Glamour Muscle and Honey and the Herbs, while Bertrand previously drummed with Parisian prog tropical band Orval Carlos Sibelius
The EP, recorded in Glasgow over two days, has a title track which comes with a video, and indeed is released as a Bandcamp download and as pairs of limited-edition 3D glasses each stamped with a unique download code.
