Randolph’s Leap release a new tune, ‘Mull’ as a postcard single on Pictish Trail’s Lost Map label.

The new release features both original and alternative versions of ‘Mull’ plus a new track called ‘Asphalt’ and a brand new recording of old favourite ‘Uncharted’.

‘Mull’ was originally on the band’s third album ‘Worryingly Okay’, following their 2014 debut ‘Clumsy Knot’, released on Lost Map Records, and 2016’s ‘Cowardly Deeds’, released on Olive Grove Records. The new release was written and performed almost entirely by Adam solo, whereas previous music has featured the entire band – Nairn born-and-raised Adam Ross, plus Adam Firenze, Vicki Cole, Andrew MacLellan, Heather Thikey, Ali Hendry, Fraser Gibson and Pete MacDonald – was formed in Ayr in 2006 by students on a college music course.

“The story behind ‘Mull’ is fairly self-explanatory,” says Randolph’s Leap singer / songwriter Adam Ross.

“The bit about the boulder crushing a house comes from W. H. Murray’s The Companion Guide to the West Highlands of Scotland which describes “last century a newly married couple came to one of the cottages on their wedding night. A storm broke at midnight, dislodging from the cliff a boulder weighing many thousands of tons. It fell straight on to the cottage, crushing it flat. The lovers were never seen again. You can see this enormous rock poised between the first two cottages on the left, with the old garden wall still standing round it.”
