On Rapal this week on Radio nan Gàidheal, Hannah Mckirdy hosts, and on Monday 28th’s show, from 7.30pm, she chats to Katie Gregson Macleod, a young singer-songwriter from Inverness.

And on Wednesday 30th (same time), it’s the turn of Beta Waves appear on the show to plug their new EP, imaginatively entitled ‘EP1’. Hannah chats to the band live on the show and hear three songs from the EP too.

If at the bells last January you were wondering what you’d be doing on the 31st, you probably didn’t be on staying in for BBC Scotland’s Hogmanay Show, but it looks like a few more of us will be tuned in – it starts at 10.30pm, and has live appearances from Deacon Blue, and Amy Macdonald.

Finally, on Saturday, January 2nd, kicking off at 9pm, The Pastels 2009 album ‘Two Sunsets’ will get the LIstening Party treatment thanks to Tim Burgess – on Twitter @LlSTENlNG_PARTY or via timstwitterlisteningparty.com.

And The Grand Gestures – the collective formed by Spare Snare’s Jan Burnett and featuring a variety of guest vocalists including Emma Pollock and Sanjeev Kholi – have made available the film of their debut gig, at Glasgow’s King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, in 2012, and you can see it right here:
