Radio in Scotland rather stumbles its way into the new year with a host of interesting ‘listen again’ repeats, but there’s one notable exception – The Quay Sessions on Radio Scotland has Hamish Hawk live performing tracks from his forthcoming album ‘Angel Numbers’. Also with Roddy Hart on Wednesday 11th January from 8pm is Dante Gizzi out of Gun, talking about his favourite live album. Wednesday 8pm.

You can also listen again to Hogmanay’s Quay Sessions, and relive the party, a bit like watching Jools Holland’s Hootenany but with rather better music – with Callum Beattie, Kitti and James Grant and the Hallelujah Strings.

There’s also a couple of archive sessions courtesy of Marc Riley’s recent 6music shows – from Teen Canteen, and Sexual Objects.

Stuart Braithwaite out of Mogwai is hosting a new series of his #loseyourself shows, also for BBC Radio 6 Music – featuring among others mixes from Lichen Slow and Cloth, there’s a selection including the one from Hogmanay…

Finally, hadn’t realised that Bellshill Beat is now available on Youtube – a legendary STV show from 30 years ago (!) featuring the music scene from the Lanarkshire area. Thanks to Murray Easton, of the Everything Flows blog, for the tip!
