In a continuing series (hopefully), you can catch the debut session (and chat) from Disquiet, Black Country – a duo based in, yes, the English Midlands but featuring ex-pat Dundonian lo-fi musician Alex Botten of Magnetic North Pole / Thee Moths / countless etcs fame. That’s at regalradio.net on Thursday 28th from 4pm.

The thing about radio is that it’s all repeats nowadays… for example, is this music? last week had a session from Our Lady Of The Stars – the (currently) solo venture of John McKeown, also of The Yummy Fur. Four tracks and an interview with are available to listen again.

But live, kinda – on Wednesday 27th, timstwitterlisteningparty.com has some slightly tangential local interest – from 8:00PM, Tim Burgess hosts a full playback of The Communards‘ 1987 album ‘Red’.

And Steve Lamacq snuck out an archive interview with Franz Ferdinand – it was part of their 6Music Album Club, which also featured a playback of the band’s 2003 debut album.

Similarly, James Yorkston was on 6Music with Tom Robinson, talking about his brand new album with The Second Hand Orchestra – listen again, why don’t you.
