Punch & the Apostles are self-releasing two new albums on 30th August – the 10-track Meat in Summerland is the band’s second album proper, while Hymn to Death is a single 35 minute piece. Both are available as downloads, and there will be limited physical copies – 200 of each, as screen-printed gatefold CDs – on sale at www.punchandtheapostles.com.
Both records were recorded in the early summer of last year, as part of the same three-day session at CaVa in Glasgow, with Geoff Allan producing. Meat in Summerland is a ten track album, while Hymn to Death was performed as a one-off concert at The Captain’s Rest, with visuals by Graham Tiler, tying in with his first book of poetry, ‘Buildings in a House of Fire’.
