Port Sulphur release a new single, ‘Gene Tambourine’, via Creeping Bent.
The new track is taken from the forthcoming EP from the Glasgow collective, to be entitled ‘Biblioteca’, and the follow-up to last year’s album ‘Paranoic Critical’.
‘Gene Tambourine’ – a possible homage to Gene Clark out of The Byrds, who can say for sure – is a writing collaboration with Orange Juice guitarist James Kirk.
Also on the recording also featuring bassist Campbell Owens, Andrew Alston on keyboards, drummer Paul Turnbull – The Secret Goldfish’s Katy Lironi on vocals, with production by band founder and Creeping Bent supremo Douglas MacIntyre.
The track was recorded and mixed by Samuel Joseph Smith at Green Door Studios.
Jockrock says: “Another dreamy head-nodder, a motorik foot-tapper, a swirling mix of ancient and modern from these masters of Californian Krautrock.”
