Edinburgh indie-dance legends and acid house pioneers Finitribe are set to perform for the first time in 20 years as part of Edinburgh’s Pleasance Sessions.

In a lineup that also includes The Twilight Sad, Broken Records and The Phantom Band, the ten day event, now in its second year, will take place between the 10th and 18th October, and will event also include a literary element with Liz Lochead and Richard Jobson, as well as the two-day Och!toberfest beer festival.

Acts also appearing across the 10 days include Skinny Dipper, Woodenbox, Casual Sex, Beerjacket, Jo Mango, Remember Remember, Roddy Hart, and many more (our words, not theirs). However, it may be the reemergence of Finitribe that will be of most interest to many, with the Edinburgh act re-released material for the One Little Indian label. Planned for next year are mixes of ‘101’, which follows up new takes on Balearic/Acid House anthem ‘De Testimony’ (memorably described by John Peel as “the one with the bells on it”) while new material is also on the cards. The band also appear at Festival of House in Dundee the night before the Edinburgh show alongside A Guy Called Gerald, Danny Rampling and SLAM, as well as supports with The Orb and 808 State in Manchester and Glasgow, on the 18th and 25th October respectively.
