Finally, it’s Celtic Connections time and while the alternative content seems to be at a minimum this year, there is what’s billed as the “indie Transatlantic Sessions”, – the Roaming Roots Revue. Curated by Roddy Hart and employing his The Lonesome Fire as house band, the lineup includes Amy Helm, Beth Orton, Lau, Rachel Sermanni, Corey Chisel & The Wandering Sons, Gemma Hayes, Ben Knox Miller of The Low Anthem, and Admiral Fallow’s Louis Abbott. That’s at the Royal Concert Hall on Sunday 20th.
