Pictish Trail releases a new single, ‘Double Sided’, via Fire Records.

Taken from current album ‘Thumb World‘, the Postmap postcard version also includes an unreleased B-side, a cover of Grandaddy’s ‘Now It’s On’, taken from his recent Marc Riley BBC 6 Music 2019 session (available to anyone signing up to the PostMap Club subscription service, or available in the Lost Map shop by end of the month).

“This was the last song to be recorded on the album and is about the idea of living a virtual life, a sort of simulation existence,” Lynch says, of ‘Double-Sided’.

“This track is kinda paired with ‘After Life’ from the previous album Future Echoes. It’s about how we present different versions of ourselves online, how we often experiment with how we wish to be perceived by others, and how there’s almost a sense of detachment from responsibility for our behaviour.”

The track was produced and mixed by Rob Jones, featuring string arrangements from Kim Moore and drumming from Alex Thomas (Squarepusher, Anna Calvi, Air).
