Paper Rifles release a festive single, ‘Santa’s Got The Vaccine’, as a Bandcamp download, via Anti-Manifesto.

Recorded at home and under Covid restrictions in November, it comes with a bonus track, ‘After Christmas’, which was recorded on an 8-track by frontman Jon Dick in the winter of 2008, but is released now for the first time.

Unlike the B-side, ‘Santa’s Got The Vaccine’ is a full-band recording, also including Kevin Cameron, James Johnson, and Kieran Andrews. The Edinburgh-based quartet have already honed their recording expertise with a series of remotely-recorded Lockdown Covers, while Dick’s previous act, Curators, have also spent 2020 reimagining their album ‘Is This A Private Fight’ on its 10-year anniversary with a series of monthly new versions of tracks from their debut long-player.

Paper Rifles themselves released their second album ‘Traitor’s Hill‘ in June

Of the new single, the band say: “It’s been a pretty bloody awful year. No gigs, no rehearsals, no sweaty evenings in awesome wee venues, no meeting up with pals, plenty of fears for the future.

“With that in mind, who doesn’t need a bit of festive cheer this Christmas? After all, Santa’s got the vaccine…
