First things first, one for the bands as much as the punters. Edinburgh venue Teviot Underground is running weekly indie band slots – first on the list is AQU∆FAUX / Thirty Three Connection / Faex Optim on Thursday 4th December. They’re looking for bands to play next year – get in touch via [email protected]
That aside, a couple of other shows of note in the capital – the splendidly-named Polar Bears in Purgatory play Henry’s, while North Atlantic Oscillation are at Sneaky Pete’s. The latter can also be found at Dundee Buskers on Friday and up in Furryboots City (er, Aberdeen) on Saturday night.
Back to Thursday, and Deacon Blue play a homeetown show at Dundee’s Caird Hall, while in Glasgow, Foreignfox are at Flat 0/1, 2manydjs play the O2 Academy, and at Ivory Black’s, former Celtic reserve and occasional hitmaker Owen ‘My Favourite Waste Of Time’ Paul‘.
On Friday in Dundee, veteran punks The Vibrators are at Buskers.
More veteran punks in Edinburgh, with Stiff Little Fingers at the Liquid Room, while Tartan Clef winners The LaFontaines are in Dunfermline, at PJ Molloys.
The Fife venue hosts another act on Saturday night – Fatherson – while at the Tevoit Debating Hall in Edinburgh, it’s Big Country.
On Saturday Biffy Clyro are at the Barrowland – they’re there on Sunday as well – while Maybeshewill return to Stereo and the Xcerts are at Oran Mor.
On Sunday, The XCerts are at Beat Generator in Dundee, The Moon Kids are at Inverness Eagle Bar, and launching their third album, Seafieldroad play Edinburgh’s Voodoo Room.
