A new fund has been launched to offer Scottish musicians record, tour and market themselves.
The new Momentum Music Fund, from Creative Scotland and the Performing Rights Society Foundation, will offer grants of up to £15,000 to help artists cut an album, go on tour or set themselves up for music streaming.
The PRS Foundation, a charity run by the UK’s royalty collection society, has teamed up with Creative Scotland following a successful pilot scheme which has been running in England since 2013.
The career-boosting grants of between £5,000 – £15,000 are intended to go to acts who are at a “pivotal” time in their development.
Acts who have previously benefited from the fund include Anna Meredith, Public Service Broadcasting, Years & Years, Yungen, Lapsley and Oh Wonder.
The deadline for application submissions is May 29 2018 at 6.00pm. More details at www.prsfoundation.com.
