Mogwai release a live album, ‘2018’ – available as a Bandcamp download.
The quartet are ‘marking’ it being a year since their last live concert – “It’s a cliche but you really don’t realise how much you miss something until it isn’t there,” said guitarist Stuart Braithwaite in a Facebook post.
As the title suggests, the 12 tracks were recorded on tour two years ago, by (former Eska bassist) Kenny MacLeod, and the setlist focuses on most recent studio album ‘Every Country’s Sun’.
The band – Stuart Braithwaite, Barry Burns, Dominic Aitchison, and Martin Bulloch – were joined onstage by Alex Mackay on guitar and keyboard, while Cat Myers provided additional percussion.
The band currently have a hometown show penciled in for February 20th 2021, at Glasgow’s Hydro.
Acknowledging that “many people are struggling financially during the pandemic” the band have made the release available on a pay-what-you-want basis.
