Mickey 9s trail their forthcoming album ‘Modern Kunst’ with a new single, ‘Full American’.

It’s the second trailer for the long-player and follows previous single ‘Kids‘ from last month.

The track, and album, were recorded at Square9 Recording Co. by Antony Paul, who produced it along with Ross Hamilton, who also mixed and mastered the release.

The Glasgow four-piece’s third full-length release – due out in July – follows single ‘Soundhaus (ha ha ha)‘ from 2018 and album ‘Galactico Radio’.

The purveyors of “Post-Funk / Evil Disco” – who won the Scottish Alternative Music Award (SAMA) for Best Live Act – released their debut long-player ‘The Party Manifesto‘ in 2015.

The band initially formed after seeing Daft Punk at a music festival, deciding electronic music was the kind they wanted to make. Ditching their guitars and buying synths, they performed at venues such as SubClub and the Soundhaus.

However, they confess that the electro songs they were writing “lacked the energy, momentum and emotion” required.

So, their return to guitar-based sounds arrives with their latest recordings – aptly or ironically, just before Daft Punk announced the end of their 27-year career.
