Main Primate releases debut album ‘…for the Lamplighters’, via Brawsome Productions.

Available on all platforms including limited CD run, the 11 tracks contain previously released singles ‘Portobello‘ from last December, plus, ‘Super 8 Day’ and January’s ‘Settled Song‘.

Main Primate is the solo outlet for HJM Duggie, formerly guitarist with Rough Trade signings Lowlife, as well as vocalist/guitarist with Foil, who recorded for Mute Records’ imprint, 13th Hour.

The multi-instrumentalist is also one third of Sons of the Descent – with the album being written over the past two years in parallel with working on material for the Edinburgh-based trio.

‘…for the Lamplighters’ was written, recorded and self-produced by Duggie over the last couple of years, with the album being mastered by Stephen ‘Bendy Toy’ Evans at his @Hithut Studios.

“If it is about anything, it is about the healing nature of close relationships,” says Duggie of the tracks on his first solo long-player.

“That could be friends, lovers, anyone who provides that safety net…the thing that gets you over the line”.
