Luke La Volpe release a new single, ‘Nightmare of the Streets’.

The new track follows up a previous single, March’s ‘Can’t Seem To Get Enough’.

The Bathgate blues-rock act – Luke Gibson, Ben MacDonald, Ewan Butler and Colm Boyle – formed in July 2017 and as well as touring with neighbour Lewis Capaldi, have taken support slots with the likes of Alabama 3, Gerry Cinnamon and Tom Clarke out of The Enemy.

The band have a string of gigs and festival appearances planned:
Saturday 29th June – Live in Livi Festival, Livingston
Thursday 4th July – XpoNorth, Inverness
Sunday 21st July – Doune the Rabbit Hole, Stirlingshire
Sunday 4th August – Gig in the Car Park, Fife
Friday 9th August – King Tuts, Glasgow (Headline)
Saturday 10th August – Party at the Palace, Linlithgow
Saturday 21st September – AMP Fest, Armadale (Headline)

Jockrock says, less succinctly than usual: “This West Lothian quartet are a bit of a conundrum – categorising themselves as jazz / blues on Soundcloud, this new track has a Paolo Nutini-like vocal and a reggae offbeat – it’s nice, but it’s certainly not jazz. There’s a touch of the swampy blues of Uncle John & Whitelock or even Nick Cave, but perhaps most telling is their Facebook profile with the only entry under “Artists We Also Like” being Elvis Presley. Maybe it’s just rock’n’roll, and, expertly delivered, there’s nothing wrong with that.”
