There’s a Doune the Rabbit Hole preview show at Nice N’ Sleazy in Glasgow on Wed May 9th – with The Lovely Eggs (who launch their new7″ single ‘Food’ is released on Cherryade) plus guests Hector Collectors and End of Neil. Tickets here

Roddy Woomble takes his brand of folk to Tomermory’s An Tobar on Tuesday, Dundee’s Gardyne Theatre on Thursday and Paisley Art Centre on Saturday.
Or for Dundonians who like their music a bit less sedate, Fat Goth play Dexters, on Friday.

Elvis Costello plays Glasgow’s Armadillo on Friday – point of interest is that he has his ‘Big Wheel’ with him, meaning that audience members will choose the setlist at random from a pool of 40 or so tunes from his back catalogue.

Not quite as random (mind you), NYC’s noise rockers A Place to Bury Starngers are at King Tut’s same night, doubtless trailing their forthcoming Mute album, entitled Worship.

Or, if in Edinburgh, you could check out the new-look Cabaret Voltaire – who have a free show featuring Miniature Dinosaurs, People Places Maps and Run/Lucky.

Finally, We See Lights continue their launch tour for new EP Hopeless at Maths, at Inverness Hootenany’s on Thursday, Dornoch Cathedral on Saturday night (thats’ what it says here), and Letham St Marks in Perth on Sunday.
