Lloyd Cole releases a new electronic album, ‘1D’.
The 11 tracks are compiled from unused parts recorded for his 2013 long-player ‘Selective Studies Vol. 1’ – a collaboration with Hans-Joachim Roedelius.
Most of the tracks were taken from lengthier pieces originally intended to be augmented with further parts – Cole and Roedelius both produced around four times as much material than required – and these have been edited for the new, solo album, by Jonas Foerster in Berlin after record label Bureau B suggested the ‘spare’ material might work on its own merits. No computers or keyboards were used in the tracks’ creation, with most generated by “programmed sequencers and logic”.
