Lizabett Russo releases album ‘While I Sit Here and Watch This Tree’ Volume 1, via Last Night From Glasgow’s Hive imprint.

The Scots-based artist, with Romanian roots, recorded the album from her home during quarantine, adding in performances from Graeme Stephen on guitar and piano, Aidan O’Rourke on violin, Oene van Geel viola cello Udo Demandt on percussion, before Robin Wynn Evans mix and mastered its eight tracks.

In 2013, Lizabett self-released her EP entitled ‘The Traveller’s Song’, played shows in Amsterdam, Zurich, Barcelona, Paris and Bucharest, and in the UK, supported the likes of Rachel Sermanni, LAU, Rozi Plain, Tim Edey and Trembling Bells, as well as playing the Cambridge Folk Festival, Celtic Connections and Latitude. She was picked up by Last Night From Glasgow when she opened for her soon-to-be-labelmates Gracious Losers.

IronStar Films have selected two of her songs to be played in an independent short movie called ‘Bloodloss’. The movie has received special mentions at independent film festivals in Los Angeles, Calgary, Marbella and Melbourne and Ontario.

The release is available digitally and on vinyl from Last Night From Glasgow, and Russo celebrates the album’s release with an online launch on Friday the 27th of November, streamed live on Youtube at 8pm.
