A gaggle of shows this week, which all seem to be taking place on Friday (so we can hardly recommend that you go and see them all, sadly).
However, you can (and should as it’s all in a good cause) take in this show:
Mitchell Museum, Lady North, Dave Hughes and the Renegade Folk Punk Band, and Esperi, play a gig in aid of the Japan Tsunami Appeal at Glasgow’s 13th Note, on Tuesday 3rd May – 8pm, £5 on door. First band on at 8.15 sharp!
Onto Friday now: three top-notch Scottish bands on one bill: Lightguides / The Little Kicks / The Spitfires, at Edinburgh’s Sneaky Pete’s
Secret Gang Handshakes – the side project of Won Mississippi guitarist Rob Wilkinson – plays a hometown show at Berwick’s Barrels on Friday May 6th. Support from Iain Petrie
Loughborough-originated songsmiths The Wave Pictures play at Glasgow’s Nice N Sleazy on Friday, May 6, ably supported by local favourites Le Reno Amps and My Tiny Robots
Finally, The Thanesplay Glasgow’s The 13th Note on Fri May 6th and will feature, for a few numbers, members of The Poets, the 1960s Glasgow group that recorded for Andrew Loog Oldham and the Decca record label. This will be a taster for a full Thanes – Poets amalgam that will appear at Edinburgh’s first Garage and Beat Band Festival “The Big Stramash” in late July.
