Laurence Lean releases his first solo album, ‘Arcs’.
Although described as a “debut”, the Edinburgh-based singer and guitarist has a fairly extensive track record over the past couple of decades.
Lean was formerly the frontman of Annie Christian, a quartet who were managed by former Simple Minds svengali Bruce Findlay. Signed to Virgin offshoot V2, the band had some minor chart success with single ‘Love This Life’ and their album, ‘Twilight’.
Following that act’s split, Lean fronted Edinburgh act The Last Great Wilderness, as well as joining Little Doses, formed by Snow Patrol’s Mark McClelland, who also recruited members of FO Machete and Degrassi for his indie supergroup.
‘Arc’s 13 tracks are available to download via bandcamp, where four further brand new, non-album tracks – ‘As Close As We Can for As Long As It Lasts’, ‘Bela’, ‘Winter Sings Your Song’ and ‘Truly Madly Deeply’ – can also be found.
