Killer Whale releases a single ‘Forgive Your Enemies’ via Symphonic Distribution.
The track is taken from a forthcoming album ‘Everyone You Know Someday’, containing 11 tracks, like the single, recorded and produced by Rocket Science.
The guise of Dougie Smith, Killer Whale’s roots lie in a teenage support slot for Frightened Rabbit in Glasgow. “Scott Hutchison’s genius that night changed my life,” he recalls.
“His music was a revelation – you can be from Glasgow and be in a band that doesn’t sound like Oasis! Unfortunately, he quipped that my own ramshackle group reminded him of High School talent shows.”
Following a spell playing bass with friends, masked metal-funkers Mickey 9s, “The mask has come off…” he says.
Three of the album tracks – ‘Lampedusa’, ‘La Povertà’ and ‘Blessed / Benedetto’ – have also been recorded in stripped-back mode as a taster for the full-length, full-band album, due in the summer.
The ‘Bare Bones’ EP can be heard via Spotify or Apple Music
