Kathryn Joseph releases a single ‘Tell My Lover’ via Rock Action.

Working as ever with Marcus Mackay, the track is available as a 7” single, with b-side ‘The Last Four’ – her first release since signing to Mogwai’s label.

The single is also available as a digital download and follows her debut album ‘bones you have thrown me and blood i’ve spilled’, which won the Scottish Album of the Year award in 2015.

The singer turned down her first recording contract at age 23, only playing the occasional Aberdeen gig for the intervening years but after striking up a friendship with producer Marcus Mackay (who released Frightened Rabbit’s first album ‘The Greys’ on his Hits The Fan label), she finally recorded her debut album, with some songs being written over the course of ten years.

Joseph has also collaborated with Mackay and The Twilight Sad’s James Graham on the project Out Lines, whose debut album Conflates was released in October 2017.

The new tunes are the first taste from her forthcoming second album, which will be released by Rock Action this summer.

Joseph has also been confirmed for Robert Smith/The Cure curated Meltdown Festival performing with Mogwai on June 21st at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
