Singer, songwriter and guitarist Jon Mackenzie releases his first solo EP, ‘Holidays on the Moon’ described as a “collection of fantasy tales with themes of love, travel, hope and ancient minerals”.
The EP was recorded in the space of one afternoon at Slate Room, a countryside studio located outside Edinburgh. It gets its launch at Edinburgh’s Voodoo Rooms on Sunday 9th April.
The five tracks – Way Out West, Holidays on the Moon, Lonesome Road, Rent Day in the Wilderness and Sacred Ancient Mineral Blues – were recorded by Garry Boyle (Broken Records, Stanley Odd), with Owen Nicholson on lap and pedal steel duties and Iona Crosby on double bass.
The EP is available on CD format at www.jonmackenzie.scot as well as on iTunes.
