Jared Celosse releases a new single ‘Kintsukuroi’.

The Glasgow-based singer-songwriter, with roots in England, Holland and the Czech Republic, has previously released two home-recorded EPs on Olive Grove Records as well as appearing as part of the label’s ‘Archipelago‘ series, sharing a 12″ with Chrissy Barnacle.

In 2019 Celosse was announced as the winner of the inaugural Stewart Cruickshank Bursary – the award named after the Scottish broadcasting legend and given to a songwriter yet to record in a professional studio.

As part of the award Celosse recorded three tracks with Paul Savage at Chem19 Studio, with musical backing from Louis Abbott (Admiral Fallow), Graeme Smillie (Emma Pollock, A Mote of Dust etc) and Pete Harvey (Modern Studies, King Creosote, The Leg).

The new single – the last of these recordings to be made available – contains lyrics exploring the theme of ‘kintsukuroi’ – the Japanese art form of mending broken things with gold, to make them “whole” again and more beautiful than before.
