James Mackenzie releases a new single, ‘Shoulders’.

Taken from the EP ‘Winter’, and available as a Spotify stream, it’s the first new material from the former Aquascene guitarist in several years, following his move from the Scottish Highlands to Nurnberg.

Having played more than 100 gigs in all corners of Germany, the singer/songwriter then spent time in Sydney in November 2018, writing and recording with Glenn Sarangapany of Australian alt-rock stars Birds of Tokyo.

The new single is produced by Nathan Sheehy (who recently worked with Dave Bottrill on Birds’ recent material) and arrives in advance of a new release entitled ‘Closer’.

Mackenzie and Sarangapany continue to collaborate and create from opposite sides of the world via Skype, with a full album planned for future release.
