Frightened Rabbit, Euros Childs, Kid Canaveral and ballboy are among the bands who appear on a charity fundraiser album, put together by Book Group and abetted by eagleowl.

Featured on the release are a total of 37 (!) bands, also including the likes of Meursault, Broken Records, Pictish Trail, Withered Hand, Allo Darlin’, Ette, Spare Snare and The Spook School – the list, literally, goes on…

The unique release, entitled ‘Home For The Holidays: A Christmas Songbook’ is in aid of the housing and homelessness charity, Shelter Scotland.

Rather than a physical release, it actually comes as a book, with lyrics for all the songs. The recordings are available as an accompanying download and feature original Christmas songs, reinterpretations of classics, instrumentals and spoken word.

The album was released last weekend with a two day launch show and fundraiser at Summerhall in Edinburgh. The release is available at shelterscotland.org/homefortheholidays or via bandcamp.
