Graham Costello‘s Strata release a new single, ‘Circularity’.

“Inspired by the often cyclic nature of our lives, and the world around us,” the track trails a forthcoming album, ‘Second Lives’, which is the follow-up to 2019’s debut long-player ‘Obelisk’.

‘Circularity’ follows previous singles ‘Lyra‘, from June last year’, and Eudaimonia‘, which came out last month.

The Glasgow ensemble are fronted by bandleader, composer, and drummer Graham Costello, and play as a quartet and sextet, with pianist Fergus McCreadie, whose solo album was just released on Edition Recorda, 2018’s Young Scottish Jazz Musician Of The Year Joe Williamson on guitar, and Mark Hendry on electric bass.

Also involved on the latest full-complement release are trombonist Liam Shortall, who also leads jazz collective corto.alto; and saxophonist Harry Weir, who also leads AKU!.

Single and album were recorded straight to tape last summer at RAK Studios with co-producer and engineer Hugh Padgham, mixed at British Grove, and subsequently mastered in-house at Gearbox.

The single is now available to download via Bandcamp, or via less reputable outlets.
