Same night, in Embra, at Henry’s sees Super Adventure Club, Galoshins, Cuddle Shark and Thirty Pounds of Bone play in what must be some sort of Armellodie Records showcase.

Haddow On The Fringe has one of quite a few shows this August, including Broken Records on Thursday 8th at Liquid Rooms Annexe.

Later on Thursday, August 8th, at the Assembly Rooms, it’s the memorial concert for Athletes’ bassist Doogie Paul, who passed away last year. On the bill will be James Yorkston, of course as well as Mogwai – and, King Creosote, Sheena Wellington, Alasdair Roberts, Kathryn Williams and Ian Rankin.

On Friday 10th, Kid Canaveral are with the Cairn String Quartet as well as guests ballboy, at the Liquid Room in Edinburgh.

And Saturday in Glasgow (hurrah!) we get LA’s, ahem, “darkwavers” Cold Cave at Broadcast
