A bit of a late round-up; so, sorry, you missed Sleater-Kinney‘s return to Glasgow, Ach wel, it was sold out anyway so don’t blame us.

So, Thursday already. Still time to catch Nothing Ever Happens Here, a new series of shows at Edinburgh’s Summerhall. The opener features local heroes Broken Records headlining, plus Garden of Elks
Around the country, Forest Fires play Dundee’s Buskers, and in Glasgow, new twosome (and former Golden Grrrls)Sacred Paws are at Mono, punting their new EP for Rock Action. Numbers Are Futile play Sleazy’s, while at King Tut’s, it’s Kill It Kid.

Out and about around the country are The Stranglers, with guests The Rezillos punting their second (!) album. They’re at the Beach Ballooom in Aberdeen on Thursday, Kilmarnock Grand Hall on Friday and head for Glasgow’s O2 Academy on Saturday.

On Friday, Bwani (with or without the ‘Junction’, who knows) play Edinburgh’s Electric Circus while in Glasgow, a slew of live music to choose from. Most intriguing is ‘DJ Yoda presents Breakfast of Champions‘ – which as far as we can tell is a live band show from the platter-spinner. Find out more at The Art School.
With Them Beatles at Ivory Blacks, The View playing the Barras, Memory Man at Broadcast, Universal You at Sleazy’s, Eurovision grunters Lordi visiting the Classic Grand, and former Bluetone Mark Morris at the Admiral, you will not go short on choice. Oh, and just outside the city limits (?) Andrew Howie – the artist formerly known as Calamateur – launches his debut album (kind of) with a show at the Glad Cafe in Shawlands, along with collaborator Yvonne Lyon.

Saturday is, well, pretty much dead by comparison. No offence to the brave acts who take centre stage of course – Gun play the Barrowland, and in Edinburgh, there’s indie piano-pop from Collar Up at the Wee Red Bar. In Aberdeen, Kathryn Joseph is at the Lemon Tree and The View are at The Garage.

Finally, to Sunday, when former Geneva frontman Andrew Montgomery plays King Tut’s, while a more intimate show following their Summerhall show, for Broken Records at Nice’n’Sleazy.
Also on Sunday, Catholic Action and Poor Things are at Mad Hatters in Inverness. In Edinburgh, The Filthy Tongues are at Cabaret Voltaire.
