We’re in the gigging daed zone between Glasgow Fair, Edinburgh Trades, and whatever the good people of Falkirk call their own holiday shutdown. So, we must ration you to one show per night.

But a good one to get on with – The Dickies will play Glasgow’s Audio on Monday. And yes, they probably will do ‘Banana Spiits’. Though not, it seems, ‘Eve of Destruction’.

On Tuesday, more noisemongers of yore – US thrashers Prong , again are at Audio which is fast becoming the CBGBs of the city.

On Wednesday, first of a small tour for Irish singer-songwriter Jack Lukeman – he’s at the Glad Cafe on the southside of Glasgow.

And on Thursday, Jack Lukeman again – some of you may have seen him tour recently with Imelda May or Jools Holland… but don’t let that put you off. Anyway, he plays Edinburgh’s Voodoo Room on Thursday 20th.

Also on Thursday, Dunfermline natives Foreignfox venture out of Fife to give current single ‘I Used To Be A Bellydancer’ a bit of a push at Glasgow’s King Tut’s

This weekend, a bit of an extravaganza for this of a certain age – Rewind – three days of nostalgia form the likes of The Human League, Musical Youth, Steve Harley, Nick Hayward, The Undertones, the BEF with Glen Matlock and Peter Hook among others,

And in Glasgow on Friday at the O2ABC2, 80s psychopunks The Folk Devils hit town to play selections from current singles collection ‘Beautiful Monsters’.
