It’s all about the capital in what is the final week of the festival / summer, so Edinburghers (?) should make the most of it.
But first a wee trip to the big city perhaps – flavour of the month The Murder Capital have a probably0sold0out set at Monorail on Monday night.
On Tuesday, BC Camplight plays Edinburgh’s Gilded Balloon Debating Hall, and that’s about it until Ash hit twn, for a show at the Liquid Rooms
Also on Wednesday, Grandmaster Flash (without Melle Mel and / or the Furious Five, we presume) is at Summerhall, Edinburgh, UK
In Aberdeen, former Efterklanger Peter Broderick is at The Lemon Tree, while Kathryn Joseph plays Inverness Eden Court Theatre.
In Dundee, Copenhagen based Black metallers Hexis are at Conroy’s Basement.
Things hot up a little gig-wise on Thursday – Jarvis Cocker plays the Leith Theatre while a smaller (but still perfectly-formed) show for davesnewbike at Brig Below.
Efterklang – presumably without Peter Broderick, but who can say for sure? – are at Leith Theatre, which is near Edinburgh, and in the city itself, an impressive 4-act lineup with Martin Metcalfe, Paul Hullah, Roy Moller, and Lach, at the Scottish Arts Club.
Also in the capital, Mickey 9s play Stramash, while Glasgow has Voicex (containing traces of Scars), plus Comfort, at the Old Hairdresser’s.
On Saturday 24th Madness are in Montrose, at Northern Meeting Park (which, we presume, means it’s an open-air gig).
Edinburgh gets Colonel Mustard & The Dijon 5, at The Old Doctor Bells Baths, while Cate Le Bon is at Summerhall,
On Sunday, wellies on as Twin Atlantic, You Me At Six, Pale Waves, Ten Tonnes, and No Rome play at what is left of Bellahouston Park, while in Edinburgh, and winding down the festival (tbc), Alasdair Roberts has a show at The Palm House.
