Your Week in Rock gets off to a late start, on Tuesday 17th when Boston-formed indie veterans Pile are at Nice N Sleazy in Glasgow

On Wednesday 18th, highly-regarded Glasgow combo Rascalton are at King Tut’s.

Thursday 19th sees Hooky and the Boys – under the Peter Hook & The Light moniker – play The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh, while The Filthy Tongues are at P.J. Molloy’s in Dunfermline.
In Glasgow, Oslo rockers Spielbergs are at The Poetry Club, and Jeffrey Lewis brings his guitar and his paints to Broadcast.
And also on Thursday, the first of three ‘farewell’ shows from Aidan Moffat and RM Hubbert, who play their last gigs together, firstly at Dundee’s Gardyne Theatre.

In Aberdeen on Friday 20th, Glaswegian punk-ish types Heavy Rapids make their way to The Tunnels, while along the road a bit, Bella Union recording artiste BC Camplight plays The Lemon Tree.
In Dumfries, Glasgow electro trio North Atlas are at The Stove, doubtless punting forthcoming single ‘Søuth’.
Indie quintet The Map Dept. – including the artist formerly known as Arran Arctic – are at The Hug and Pint in Glasgow, and The Filthy Tongues are at Òran Mór.
Mickey 9s play the Bungalow Bar in Paisley, and further afield, Broken Chanter‘s launch tour for his self-titled debut album takes David MacGregor to Aviemore’s Old Bridge Inn.
And a pleasant surprise for the denizens of Biggar, as Jeffrey Lewis is at their Municipal Hall.
Also on Friday night, The Shambolics have a hometown show at P.J. Molloy’s in Dunfermline, while Broken Chanter head northwards, to The Tooth & Claw in Inverness, and Aidan and Hubby are at Edinburgh’s Summerhall.

On Saturday, Dundee’s Beat Generator, welcomes Heavy Rapids, while along the road a bit, and Fife combo The Moon Kids are at Conroy’s Basement.

Finally, on Sunday, and most certainly part of the True North festival, radio’s Vic Galloway hosts a multi-act extravaganza including Justin Currie (Del Amitri), Clare Grogan (Altered Images), Richard Jobson (The Skids), King Creosote, Stina Tweeddale (Honeyblood), C Duncan and Emma Pollock (The Delgados), plus local lass Kathryn Joseph.
Rip It Up Live is at The Music Hall.

In Glasgow, Hibs-loving, Brexit-hating songwriter Callum Beattie plays The Garage Attic Bar, while Peter Cat is at The Hug and Pint.

Finally, to Sunday and Glasgow where Pixies are at the O2 Academy, and Aidan Moffat and RM Hubbert are at St Luke’s.
In Edinburgh, Duke Special play The Queen’s Hall, and just about in Edinburgh, Dumb Instrument launch their new album,’Doubt’, at the Leith Depot.
