Most of us are just back at work, some of us have barely got over the festive season, but it’s already time to get your dancing trousers on and see some live music.

A good place to start will be King Tut’s, who have as part of their ‘New Year Revolution’ series, up-and-coming Glasgow indie trio Yakima, on Monday night.

Same venue, but presumably not ‘up-and-coming’, Aussie punk legends The Saints .

On Thursday 12th, King Creosote is at Bogbain Farm near Inverness (presumably Brew at the Bog hasn’t started early this year?)

On Friday 13th, lucky for some, especially those in the Aberdeen area – Rick Redbeard plays the Society of Advocates Library courtesy of those nice Interesting Music Promotions people.

Same night, different city – Paisley’s finest, The Van T’s, are at King Tut’s

Saturday 14th sees things hot up a little – a top value double bill at the CCA of local indie legends James King and the Lone Wolves plus The Veloninos (for the uninitiated, from the lineage of Shakin’ Pyramids).
Elsewhere – Murderburgers are at Edinburgh’s Banshee Labrynth,
King Creosote is at Banchory’s Woodend Barn, and seminal art-rockers Blue Aeroplanes are at Edinburgh’s Voodoo Room.
They’re also at Glasgow’s Stereo the following night, but that’s your lot.
