A quiet start to the Week in Gigs leading up to a fixture pileup come the weekend…

On Tuesday 3rd, Edwyn Collins continues his cross-Scotland travels with a show at Beat Generator in Dundee

Thursday 5th sees The Flaming Lips play the Usher Hall in Edinburgh, UK

On Thursday 5th former Miracle Legion frontman Mark Mulcahy is at Glasgow’s Stereo, Glasgow, while the revitalised Spear of Destiny, celebrating 40 years of ‘One Eyed Jacks’, are at Òran Mór.

The Waterboys are in their hometown (kinda) with a gig at the Music Hall in Aberdeen, but it’s curiously busy in Dunfermline on Friday – Shaun Ryder is at P.J. Molloy’s (we assume that’s a DJ set) while at Firestation Creative, it’s Martin Metcalfe and Fay Fife (onstage together at the same time/ Who can say?)

And that son of the town, Richard Jobson, plays St Luke’s in Glasgow, UK
Glasgow is similarly action-packed – former Neu / Kraftwerk man Michael Rother is at the QMU, Comfort play The Old Hairdresser’s, Annie Booth is at the Number 18 venue, and Broken Chanter launches his self-titled solo debut at the CCA.

On Saturday 7th, The Waterboys head south, to the Barrowland in Glasgow, while The Spook School play their last-ever show, at Glasgow’s Art School.

Broken Chanter play Beat Generator in Dundee, Richard Jobson’s at Ironworks in Inverness, and in Edinburgh, Adam Stafford launches his new album ‘Trophic Asynchrony ‘ with Martin John Henry out of De Rosa also on the bill.

Finally, to Sunday and former Crass singer Steve Ignorant brings his Slice of Life to Bannerman’s in Edinburgh, while at Stirling University, The Naked Feedback. and last but not least, Richard Jobson is at Aberdeen’s Tivoli Theatre.
