This week sees the return to live action of several beloved acts who haven’t seen a Scottish stage for the best part of two years…

Included in this is folk legend Richard Thompson, who’s at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on Tuesday 26th, while 6music favourites Sports Team are at SWG3, and Laetitia Sadier out of Stereolab is at the CCA.

Meanwhile in Edinburgh, a revitalised Boo Radleys are at the Voodoo Rooms, and down the Walk, Dean Owens plays Leith Folk Club @ Victoria Park House Hotel.

On Wednesday 27th, Bedford rock quartet Don Broco punt latest album ‘Amazing Things’ at the Barrowland, while around the suburbs, The Snuts are at Aberdeen’s Music Hall, Richard Thompson plays Perth Concert Hall, and Heidi Talbot is at the Carnegie Hall (the Dunfermline one).

It’s The Waterboys‘ turn to take over Aberdeen Music Hall on Thursday 28th, while The Orb are at The Lemon Tree, with The Snuts closer to their WL home at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange (aka O2).
In town, The Mysterines are at The Mash House, Heidi Talbot plays the Acoustic Music Club, which is at the Polish Ex-Servicemen’s Club in Kirkcaldy, and in Glasgow, Vukovi have a show at Saint Luke’s alongside Press to MECO, Glasgow, and New York synth act Black Marble are at Stereo.

On Friday, the 29th, Lanterns on the Lake play King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, while also in Glasgow, The Waterboys are at the Barrowland, and The Orb are across the way at Saint Luke’s.

At SWG3, you can catch a DJ set from 2manydjs, and Wuh Oh is at Stereo, while out in the sticks (Shawlands), Alasdair Roberts has a show at the Glad Café

Further out in the sticks on Friday, De Rosa return to live action at Cumbernauld Theatre (in its new home at Lanternhouse on the Academy campus) and have as guest in tow, one Robert Dallas Gray out of Life Without Buildings.

Also out that way… The Starry Skies are at The Listening Room, in Coatbridge’s Georgian Hotel.

On Saturday 30th, Kirsten Adamson is at The Voodoo Rooms in Edinburgh, and The Orb play Summerhall, while Heidi Talbot, plus Boo Hewerdine, are in Glasgow, at Webster’s Theatre, and The Waterboys have their second night at the Barrowland.

Final show of the weekend is also in Glasgow – where legendary poet Patti Smith plays the Royal Theatre.
