There’s no better way to kick off your week than with some live music, and you are spoiled for choice this Monday. Berlin electronic artist Barbara Morgenstern is live at Platform in Easterhouse on Monday 26th.
Elsewhere in Glasgow, Unknown Mortal Orchestra are at SWG3, while at Perth Theatre Modern Studies give album ‘Welcome Strangers’ a bit of a push following its release in May.

On Tuesday, The Damned are doing the rounds again, this time they’re in Edinburgh at the Liquid Rooms, while down the hill and round the corner, Malcolm Middleton launches new album ‘Bananas’.
And somewhat implausibly, Bowling for Soup are in the less-than-grungy environs of the Usher Hall.
In Glasgow – well, Shawlands – Adam Ross out of Randolph’s Leap, plus Claire Hastings plays the Glad Café. Actually in the town, Malcolm Middleton is at St Luke’s.

The following night (that’s Wednesday, keep up), an evening of somewhat experimental music (we assume) – Richard Youngs, Electroscope, Pefkin, Catriona McKay and bell lungs are all at the Glad Café, while L-space have a show at Bar Bloc.

Thursday night offers what’s described as the last chance to see Frankie Valli before he retires, at Glasgow’s Hydro, while Miles Hunt out of the Wonderstuff, obviously) has the first of a few shows in far-f;ung places – at The CatStrand in Castle Douglas. Elsewhere, Malcolm Middleton plays Aberdeen’s Tunnels, and Edinburgh has a fair old pileup of shows – The Twilight Sad are at the Liquid Room, Static Union are at Teviot Underground, A New International play The Assembly Roxy, Edinburgh.

Shows aplenty on Friday too – John Cooper Clarke is at Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall, and blues troubadour Dave Arcari brings his slide and his beard to Sneaky Pete’s. Meanwhile, in the People’s Republic of Leith, Errant Boy launch their new album at The Depot, with support from Stephen McLaren.
Out of town a tad, James Brown Is Annie head back to their spiritual homeland (well, for some band members) for a gig at Lyth Arts Centre in Caithness.

In Dundee, at Abertay Students Union, Book Yer Ane Fest 2018 – three days of DIY and punk rock, with more than 60 bands including Dead or American, The Twistettes, Uniforms, Bratkus, the reformed Baby Chaos, Paper Rifles, and the excellent Stonethrower.

In Dunfermline, The Van T’s play P.J. Molloy’s, and at Kilmarnock’s Bellfield Tavern, Martin Metcalfe & the Fornicators. Miles Hunt is at the Harbour Arts Centre in Irvine, and revived 80s janglers The Muldoons are at the Bungalow Bar in Paisley.

In Glasgow, Young Fathers are at the O2 Academy, The Vaselines play The Great Eastern, and Aidan Moffat is at the Admiral Bar (no sign of Hubby, so that might be a DJ set). Meanwhile, Modern Studies are at their spiritual home, the Glad Café.

Saturday night is music night in Fort William… well, it s this week anyway, as Tide Lines play the Nevis Centre. In Edinburgh, at the Safari Lounge, it’s L-space, and in Aberdeen, at Krakatoa, ska legends Bombskare.
In Glasgow, grunge icons Mudhoney are at St Lukes, but if you fancy shaking your thang, 2manydjs play a DJ Set at SWG3, or there’s Auntie Flo at the Sub Club.
Though no reason why you can’t dance to Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs who with the Cosmic Dead and Suzuki Junzo are at Nice N Sleazy.

And so to Sunday. Martin Stephenson – with the Daintees? we can’t be sure – is at Eden Court Theatre in Inverness, while Auntie Flo brings the beats to Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh.
In Glasgow post-punks Theatre of Hate are at King Tut’s, and at The Poetry Club, the band formerly known as Happy Meals – Free Love.
