Rockness is set to return, though the now-defunct festival is returning to its roots, as a small dance-based event.
In fact, Groove Loch Ness bears little relation to the mix of mainstream rock and dance that has graced the bonnie banks in recent years.
Initial headliners are Groove Armada, 2 Many DJs, Subculture founders and residents Harri & Domenic, as well as Radio 1’s B.Traits and locals Filth plus the Highland’s newest clubnight Fugazy.
Limited to 5,000 over-18s, the organisers are all locally-based with representatives from Ironworks, Belladrum, plus RockNess co-founder Joe Gibbs.
The first incarnation of the new addition to the calendar is considerably smaller even than the first Rockness aka Fatboy Slim’s Brighton Beach Party from 2006.
Tickets go on sale from 10am on April 10th. More at www.groovefestival.co.uk
