Gates Of Light release their debut single ‘Walk On’
The project is an international lockdown album collaboration between five artists across four cities, three time zones and two continents, and is supported by (one) Creative Scotland – via the agency’s Open Fund, set up to sustain creativity during lockdown.
The track gets its ‘proper’ release via Shimmy-Disc of March 26th, but available now is now available via Bandcamp.
Gates Of Light features Glasgow-based singer-songwriter Louise Quinn and producer/musician Bal Cooke (Glasgow) – both, variously, of A Band Called Quinn / Dawnings, plus London-based producer/DJ Scott Fraser.
Also involved is Kid Loco, the Parisian producer/ DJ who has worked with Quinn and Cooke in the past, and film/art director Tim Saccenti, contributing visual art from his base in New York.
Production and mixed was by Cooke with additional production by Loco, while mastering was undertaken by Kramer, owner of the near-legendary Shimmy Disc label.
