Monday night and it’s time you were off… to Aberdeen, where The Stranglers are at The Garage. I’d like to think that they’ll stop off on the way to set fire to the Music Hall, which is hosting a Fleetwood Mac tribute act.

The mean, black-clad punks (that’s The Stranglers, not the Buckingham / Nicks impersonators) are at Fat Sams in Dundee the night after i.e. Tuesday.

More helpful info for you – Franz Ferdinand are back! The chances of getting a ticket now are pretty slim, but… they’re at Nice’n’Sleazy in Glasgow on Tuesday night. Presumably an intimate show trying out new material, rather than a booking error.

Wednesday sees Aussie rockers [Me] (parenthesis band’s own) at King Tut’s

On Thursday it’s Campfires In Winter at Sleazy’s. This is almost certainly a launch of something but what I can’t tell you as they’ve not told us.

Indie slackers The Frank & Walters are at Glasgow’s King Tut’s on Friday night, but there’s stiff competition with, er, indie slackers The Yawns, who are at The Old Hairdressers (and, in fact, seem to be at Bar Bloc on Tuesday as well).

Across in Embra on Friday, The Creeping Ivies are at the Wee Red Bar

And our token mention for Inverness shows up two shows on the one night – Heidi Talbot at the Eden Court, while Jo Mango is at Bogbain Farm.

On Saturday, Edinburgh, it’s Conquering Animal Sound warming up for their debut Chemikal Underground release with a gig at the Voodoo Rooms.

In Glasgow, same night, a stupidly crowded calendar… The Alarm at Oran Mor, Dave Arcari at the Buchanan Memorial Hall, Status O2 at the Acaademy, Girls Aloud at the SECC, My Bloody Valentine at the Barras, The Magic Band at the Arches, Wilko Johnston at the O2 ABC, Viv Albertine at Sw3G…

And on Sunday, the Magic Band are rather unexpectedly at the HMV Playhouse. Well, it would be unexpected if they’d not been in Glasgow the night before.
