Sorry to bring you a bite-sized-gigs of the week, but we’ve come home especially early from our nostalgia trip to Erics in Liverpool just to bring you this week’s rather sparse recommendations…

On Thursday 3rd, noisy two-piece Pinact are at Cellar 35 in Aberdeen, while in Edinburgh, at Opium in the Grassmarket, a four-band extravaganza with Algernon Doll, Fatalists, Over and Out, and A Shite State of Affairs

On Friday, unlucky runners-up in the Scottish Album of the Year Awards Kid Canaveral play Glasgow’s Broadcast, while a bit further to the north of the city, The Last Battle are at the Old Bridge Inn in Aviemore

Also in Glasgow, former Crass mainman Steve Ignorant brings old-school anarchy to the Classic Grand, accompanied by Paranoid Visions, Rubella Ballet and The Mob

Oh aye, and the Kelburn Garden Party kicks off, including Colonel Mustard & the Dijon Five, Bombskare, Trapped Mice, Soom T, Cairn String Quartet, Jesus H Foxx, Behold the Old Bear and The Stantons among the 100 or so bands playing over the three days.

On Saturday, Dundonian power trio Fat Goth bring the rock to King Tut’s

And finally for this week, Sunday 6th sees a couple of shows of note in Glasgow – Attic Lights play at Broadcast
And Frances McKee – with sister and former cohort in Suckle, Marie in tow – plays Woodend Bowling Club, a gig put on by those nice Sound in the Suburbs people.

And that’s your lot!
