A varied gig plan both geographically and stylistically for you this weekend – take Thursday 4th, when you could catch brassy indie funksters Pronto Mama at Dundee Buskers – or hit Irvine for 80s synthpop legend Howard Jones at the Magnum Centre.

On Friday 5th, Fife ska mob Root System are at the Greenside Hotel in Leslie, indiepop veterans davesnewbike are at the Glad Cafe in Glasgow’s salubrious southside, and in town, rollocking indie folk dance ensembleWoodenbox plug new album ‘Foreign Organ’ at Nice’n’Sleazy.

Saturday sees post rock shoegazers Wozniak play Edinburgh’s Banshee Labrynth, while through in Glasgow Hector Bizerk are at King Tut’s, while at Audio, it’s post-punk legends Chameleons Vox.
Oddly enough, approximate contemporaries The Monochrome Set are at Broadcast, but fortunately they’re also at Edinburgh’s Vooodoo Rooms on Sunday night.

And a flurry of shows around the country on Sunday – more reformed legends, Edinburgh acid kings Finitribe at Dundee Buskers, chipper pop songstress Nina Nesbitt plays the Electric Circus, there’s mashed-up dance goodness from The Go! Team at King Tut’s, while Woodenbox‘s cross-country jaunt takes them to Inverness Hootananny.
