Federation of the Disco Pimp launch their second album, Inamorata, with a show at Celtic Connections on Saturday 17th January.
The band describe the release as “a concept of forbidden loves” inspired by the lead up-to the Referendum last year.
The band recorded and mixed the follow-up to debut ‘More Than’ in New York with Joel Hamilton (Tom Waits/Gil Scott-Heron/Nina Simone), having written the tracks in their hometown of Glasgow.
The seven-piece – Marco Cafolla, Michael Berrich, Ross Saunders, Dade Thomas, Dave Towers, Jonny White and Scott Walker – also drew on guest appearances by Eric Krasno (Soulive/Lettuce), Aaron Livingston (Son Little), Dave Guy (The Roots/Daptones) and Sasha Dobson (Nora Jones/Puss n Boots).
As well as the launch show, which will be filmed for a live DVD, there’s also a listening party on the Thursday before, the 15th, at the Admiral. And the following week, the band launch the album in London, at Craig Charles’ Funk & Soul Show on Friday 23rd at Jazz Café Camden.
