As ever in summer, gigs are in short supply but it’s all about the quality, not quantity, right?
Wednesday sees DJ Shadow at the ABC, plugging his first album in 20 years, while nu-folk sensations JR Green play King Tut’s
On Thursday Ette launch their debut album on Olive Grove – Carla J Easton out of Teen Canteen and Joe Kane of Dr Cosmo’s Tape Lab fame will be at the Old Hairdressers in Glasgow, touting their wares.
On Friday, Three Blind Wolves are at Buskers in Dundee. Unrelated stoner rock combo Sunwolf play Aberdeen’s Downstairs, and Edinburgh has Edinburgh rock’rollers The Holy Ghosts at the Mash House. They’re also at Stereo in GLasgow on Friday night. Oh, and a pretty decent local act, Ghost Writer, are at Behind The Wall in Falkirk, doubtless plugging current single ‘Outskirts’. (Maybe you heard their single on Bathate’s Regal Radio. No?)
And at Scoune Palace, Rewind Scotland… an astonishing mish-mash over three days, where the likes of Rick Astley and Tony Hadley rub shoulders with ABC and Marc Almond, where Leo Sayer and Go West are on the same bill as the BEF with Thomas Dolby. I want to go, but at the same time want to run as far away as possible
