Edwyn Collins appears on a new Bert Jansch ‘tribute’ EP.
Collins’ track, ‘Fulmar’, was recorded with Welsh musician Carwyn Ellis (frontman of Colorama) and is taken from ‘Avocet Revisited’, an EP on Earth Recordings, as a 45rpm vinyl EP and CD.
‘Avocet Revisited’ contains four tracks, and was commissioned by Earth Recordings as a companion piece to Bert Jansch’s 1979 avian-themed ‘Avocet’ inspired by birds native to British waters.
The EP also includes tracks from Alasdair Roberts, Trembling Bells and Modern Studies. Trembling Bells’ contribution ‘Goosander’ also features Belle & Sebastian’s Stevie Jackson on 12-string guitar.
A downloadable version of the EP is also available via Bandcamp.
