Ed Muirhead releases his new album ‘Day Job’ on Tattie Records. It follows up 2013’s solo long player ‘Simple Life’, and adds drums, bass, brass section & harmonica thanks to backing band The Banter: Annabel MacGregor on trombone; Bonnie Ross on sax, Chantelle Eisma-Clinch on cornet, Gavin McGinty on harmonica; and Carol Muirhead, Graeme White and Susan McCathie on backing vocals.
The 12 tracks, available as a limited CD, of “blues, roots and more” include ‘High Girders’, the story of the Tay Bridge collapse of 1879, for which Ed used the grand piano at Dundee University.
